HLTFA311A - Apply First Aid

This course is a stand-alone course required by most industries in Australia, and needs to be refreshed every three years. It is sometimes called Senior First Aid or First Aid at Work. The course includes the Statements of Attainment for both HLTCPR211A - Perform CPR and HLTFA211A - Provide Basic Emergency Life Support. All dive and boat staff working in Queensland must take this course in order to work, as do many people working with children. The Apply First Aid course is also a requirement to get on, and remain on, the JCU Dive Register.

Duration:	5 or more hours
Prerequisites:	+ no minimum age limit
	+ have a current PADI First Aid at Work manual for self-study
	+ do self-study and 3 Knowledge Reviews prior to class
Result:	Statement of Attainment (valid 3 year)

Preparation for the course

The course takes the Independent Study Approach which allows us to minimize class time and costs. In preparation for the class, you must ensure that you have read the entire PADI Emergency First Response First Aid at Work manual with the current guidelines (DRSABCDS).

If you have version 3.0 of the PADI First Aid at Work manual, you can download the updated standards by going to the Resources/Downloads page of this website and choosing the CPR Errata, or by following this direct link.

In addition to reviewing the current guidelines, students are required to complete the three Knowledge Reviews prior to coming to class. Please note that we will need to retain a copy of your Knowledge Reviews, so if possible, please bring a copy with you.
